Tina Bishop

Ken Marston

  1. 2. Approval of the minutes from the last meeting

Minutes approved and signed.

  1. 3. Matters arising from the minutes of the last meeting

Sarah Portwine has purchased 5 tables for the hall at a cost of £504 as the application for a small grant from the Parish Council to help with the cost was unsuccessful. Bill Bristow commented that the Parish Council rejected the application as they feel the BYCC is self-sufficient but that should not stop the BYCC applying for assistance in the future.

  1. 4. Treasurer’s Report

Carl Johnston reported that catering for recent functions is proving to be very profitable but expenditure for May was significant as the BYCC has purchased a new glasswasher at a cost of approximately £1,000 as well as the new hall tables.

  1. 5. 5 Year Plan

Sarah Portwine has met with three architects but has only obtained quotes from two of them as the third is now unable to commit to the project. The committee decided to address the quotes when three are made available.

  1. 6. Bembridge Summer Festival

Sarah Portwine reported that plans for the summer festival are on track and she will email committee members with more details and voluntary requirements next month.

  1. 7. Any other business

Carl Johnston asked that more cones be put out on Steyne Road for the summer festival to stop on road parking obstructing the entrance to the car park.

Keith Cook commented that he is relieved that Island Roads will not be using the Steyne Road car park during the roadworks commencing in September of this year.

Sally Pigot asked if the bar will be open on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May, Sarah Portwine stated that it will not.

Bill Bristow commented that there is the possibility of another cricket team using Steyne Park in the future who will hopefully use the bar facilities.

  1. 8. Date of next meeting

Wednesday 6th July at 7pm in the lounge bar.
